TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System)
THE TPMS®Pressure Monitoring System® is a device that enables monitoring of the tire condition while driving, by installing a sensor with a built-in transmitter inside the tire and sending the data to a receiver installed in the driver's seat. By confirming changes in air pressure and tire temperature while in the driver's seat, it is possible to detect and respond to tire abnormalities early, reducing tire problems and preventing deterioration of fuel efficiency. This system is highly effective for improving automobile safety and energy saving.
In the United States, regulations on tire safety management were established in the wake of a tire burst accident, and since 2007, all new vehicles sold in the United States have been required to have a TPMS installed.
In recent years, TPMS has been introduced in Europe and South Korea, and the number of vehicles equipped with TPMS is increasing in Japan.
