Bird droppings can be powerfully acidic or alkali, and damage the paint if left for too long. Remove as soon as possible with a specialised cleaner such as Fukupika Stain Cleaner. It sometimes helps to soften by pouring boiling water onto a towel on the area and leaving it for a few minutes.
