Wash from the top, down!

You have to rinse down each part after you wash it. There is no point washing the hood if afterwards you rinse dirt from the roof over it! You'll just have to wash it again. So wash in this order: Roof, Windows, Front, Back, Sides, Bumpers, Tires. However, in cases where the wheels and tires are very dirty, it is a good idea to get the worst off first, to ensure they don't get dirt on other parts.
